Baiya Na Dharo

Singer:Lata Mangeshkar
Music:Madan Mohan
This is a song that I got recorded two years back. This song attracted me because of its simple but melodious lines having a semi-classical touch which pierces into the minds of the singers as well as the listeners of this song and I replay the same for you.

Divya, Am so happy for you that you have received rave reviews from very tough customers in the first attempt itself. All those who have commented on the previous posts are very very talented and have great ears for music! Keep the spirit up. Baiya Na Dharo is very very good indeed. Now lets turn to getting some good karaoke tracks and sing! Very good going!

Ah! havent heard this song in a long time!! A wonderful composition vy Madnan Mohanji.. Thanks for reminding.. :)

A great work again!! you have a nice voice and sound control.. You still have a few pitch issues to deal with.. looks like you are not following the original pitch levels at some points.. Just a feeling,I may be wrong, but..

Hi Divya,

First thing. you have got an amazing voice and you are able to render gamakams and sangathis with great ease. Goes show that you have a natural..

Bayya na dharo was very well sung. Excellent Bhavam. Nice flow.
Just a few minor suggestions.

1. The way you had ended "Na karo mose raas " the first time was slightly rushed.
2. A few lines ( lyrics) were not correct.

For e.g " Dhalengi chunariya tan pe" instead of Dhalegi chunariya tan se ..
" Hasenge ri chudiyaan chan ke " instead of chan se..
there were couple of more such instances. tends to change the meaning of the song sometimes.

Did you miss out one stanza ?

I'm being too picky.. otherwise I think this was an awesome rendition. waiting to hear more from you..

Thanks for the notification on our post . Visit my blog if you find time. I welcome your criticisms and suggestions too .

You've got the gift.. brush it till it shines even in the darkness..

I may be wrong, but I strongly feel that you are not following the original composition completely.. improvisations are nice, if you can do that nicely. Just try to listen to both (original and yours) and see how it compares..

I may be getting a bit too critical, or you set the expectation too high with the first song :-)..

Keep them coming!

BTW, if I may ask, where are you from in TCR?

Warm regards,

Hi Divya,

I wanted to comment here sometimes back, but I had some net connectivity issues hence the delay. You got a wonderful voice and beautiful singing. Loved both the songs you posted here.

I'm not quite sure, but I think I've seen you in Chetana Music Academy for the Hindustani arangettam.
